Church Planter Training Orientation

Three days in Phoenix that open your six-month training cohort. You come with your coach and your Conference Church Planting Leader.

Everyone attending registers here: recommended candidates, coaches, CPLs, the training team and special guests SSC has invited. A guest is named by the candidate they come with and gets their own link. Attendance is 100% mandatory. If you cannot be present for the whole training, do not register; speak with your conference staff about postponing your training start instead.

When are you arriving? Housing is provided from Monday afternoon, November 16, through Thursday checkout, November 19. Nights before or after that are covered only when SSC approves them ahead of time; to ask, choose another day below.

Is anyone coming with you? Each project may bring one guest, often a spouse or a key lay leader. A recommended candidate names their guest here. If you've already given SSC your guest's name, they're added to your registration for you and get their own email, so you don't need to add them here. To change or remove that guest, write to SSC Admin.

Getting There

Flights. Fly into Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX).

Book economy or basic economy by Tue, Oct 27, at least 21 days ahead.
SSC reimburses round-trip airfare up to $500 (USD) when you book by then. The cap is on the base fare. Seat selection, upgrades, and change or cancellation fees are your own cost.
Rare exceptions to the cap exist for extreme distances such as Alaska or parts of Canada, and only for tickets bought 21 days out.

Driving. Personal auto is reimbursed per mile at the published rate in force when you travel, plus tolls, not to exceed the 21-day economy airfare equivalent.

Housing. You stay at Sonesta Suites Scottsdale Gainey Ranch, 7300 E Gainey Suites Dr, Scottsdale, from Monday afternoon through Thursday checkout. SSC Admin books your room from your registration, so there is no need to book one yourself.

On Site. SSC uses WhatsApp during the event for rides and logistics. Install it on your phone before you travel: iPhone or Android. It also runs on a computer.

Hotel to Church. SSC is working out how everyone gets between the hotel and Desert City Church and will send the details before you travel.

Not Covered. Change or cancellation fees, car rentals, food and drink before you arrive, nights outside the housing window unless SSC approves them.

Reimbursement. The SSC reimbursement form. Submit receipts within one week after the event ends. Receipts after that cannot be reimbursed.
